Menendez Brother (Poster)

The Menendez brother had to endure years of s*xual and psychological abuse by their father. Those who watched the documentary know how evident it was that they had to endure such a difficult life. They thought, they will not be able to get free from their father, and they felt like their life was in danger. Both boys were convinced the father would k*ll them, as he used to threat the boys with ending their lifes. 

So in their devastation, the only way they found was to end the life of their perpetrator. 

Unfortunately! As we already witnessed in some cases, when judging the brother in court, the abuse they went through was not considered. The abuse was not even mentioned to the Jurors. Later they said, if they would have known, they would have decided differently. 

But Society can change. And society did change. Now we talk more about such cases. We are less afraid to talk about the topic. So therefore, now, the brothers are undergoing a process so that they could possibly get free. 

With all my heart I dearly hope the brothers will be set free. I am not saying they are innnocent. But they did serve their sentence and they did get the punishment. To be sentenced for life after living through what they lived, and after knowing their backstory, is just injustice. 

I hope they will get the justice they deserve and can be joined again with their family.
