WoMen (Canvas)

Women and girls all over the world have to face s*xual abuse, domestic violence and systemic oppression. Statistically too often these crimes are conducted by men. I understand the frustration some women feel towards men for what women have to go through. But with this painting I try to show another perspective: If we hate men because they are "men" we are implying that men are bad because of their gender. Instead we should look at it like this: men are very capable of respecting women and we can see that often enough. There are many good examples.

This means, if someone lacks respect, of course they need to be held accountable, but if they do respect, there is no need to hate. Therefore, the main point here is the mindset and education, which we need to focus on. 

We are both on this planet. We are both humans made by god. We are here to be together and work together. We are both on this planet to create beautiful things (like the rose in my painting is created by both). Like both genders create life, both genders are meant to thrive together.  I hope we will reach that point somewhere in the near future.
