Too often, children who experience sexual abuse are left carrying a weight that was never theirs to bear: shame. They feel guilt, confusion, and isolation, even though they are completely innocent. Many believe it's somehow their fault. It's not.
Boys are afraid of being seen as weak, or worry that the abuse says something about their s*xual identity. But the truth is: speaking up is not weakness. It is strength. Tremendous strength.
Girls and boys alike need to know: you are not broken. You are not to blame. The only one who should feel shame is the perpetrator, the one who abused trust and committed harm.
This artwork is a symbol of strength, for every child, every teenager, and every adult who has carried this pain. It’s a message: You are not alone. You are strong if you speak. Strong if you survive. And strong even when you’re just trying to breathe through the day.
Let this be a reminder to all of us to listen, to believe, and to create a world where no child ever has to feel ashamed for surviving something that was never their fault.
