Too often, justice fails those who need it most.
There are far too many cases where victims are silenced twice, once by the crime, and again by the system that should protect them. They are not believed. They are not heard. They are made to feel invisible. And the ones responsible? They walk free.
But justice is supposed to be blind to WHO is commiting the crime.
Instead of asking who committed the crime, Justice should ask what was done.
She holds a scale to weigh evidence, not emotions.
She holds a sword to punish the guilty, not to intimidate the innocent.
And yet… when justice systems are corrupted, those very symbols are made useless like in the painting.
This picture is my expression of what happens to Justicia when justice is denied.
She is not standing tall. She is wounded. Silenced. Twisted.
Because when justice is not done, it is also justice itself that bleeds and the soul of society which has to accept a corrupt justice system.
We know when justice was not done. We know it. Even if the government tells us otherwise or tells us, that it is done for an honourable cause. We feel the injustice.
